Training Within Industry's (TWI) rich history originated in the United States in the 1940s where it was developed to support the war effort by boosting industrial production. It was an unqualified success then and continues to be as TWI sustains “standard work” – the work that creates value in a business.

TWI Programs are successfully used in businesses of all sizes in a variety of industries including manufacturing, construction, services, and healthcare. There is no known industry where the TWI Programs will not have an impact.

There are 3 core TWI programs – JI, JR and JM.

Job Instruction (JI)
Getting any person to quickly remember to do a job correctly, safely and conscientiously.

Job Relations (JR)
Building positive employee relations, increasing cooperation and motivation, and effectively resolving conflict.

Job Methods (JM)
